On this voyage my husband and I cruised with a friend and her father. My husband is 65, Papa Joe is 84 and my friend and I are both in our 50s. This was her second cruise and his first. My husband and I generally cruise about twice a year, primarily with Celebrity. Our most recent cruise prior to this was Dec 2015 on Constellation. Since we had cruised only a few weeks before I'm not sure if the "vibe" we got on this cruise is indicative of change fleet wide or particular to Reflection.
We received excellent service throughout the ship with the exception of one very rude employee in one of the shops. He was so awful that another employee observing his behavior took us aside and attended to us in another part of the store and was extremely apologetic about the man. Kudos to "Steve" from China who exemplified X's stellar customer service. I also was impressed by Tony in jewelry, Ava in Q-Sine, and our room steward, Franklin from Dominica. We had very good food in Opus, Q-Sine, Tuscan Grill, and the buffet. The buffet in the evening appeared to be the most expansive we've seen on any cruise.
Our room was extremely quiet and comfortable (8177). Having never had an inside cabin before I was concerned that the lack of the balcony would negatively affect our trip but this was not the case. There were always quiet places to read (hideaway, solarium, etc) or spend time on deck. Reflection is a lovely ship and quite comfortable as all the Solstice class ships are. Our friend, Papa Joe, uses a motorized scooter which he sometimes is not so proficient driving/parking. Everyone we encountered was helpful, patient, and gracious about this even when he careened into a table or ran them over! This enabled my friend to enjoy her trip so much more.
