I have been on 4 cruise lines so feel I have some experience to compare. We chose the Escape because it was new! We immediately were concerned when we learned that yes indeed they had multiple dining opportunities but they failed to say that they are an additional fee per person of $20.00-$40.00 or pay ala carte at smaller niche venues or at the complimentary dining rooms. Manhatten room had live dinner music, which was a nice touch!
They tout awesome entertainment shows, yup you guessed it, only two are "complimentary" the rest have a fee. Beware that these shows sell out fast, and they don't have enough shows for the number of guests. The free shows were spectacular, book these ASAP!!
The ship was new, cabin rooms were small but not out of the norm, closets were tight and flipped so in rocking seas, the hangers hit the wall, which made sleeping challenging. We eventually took them down. The public spaces were OK, although I prefer the openness of another cruise line in the these areas, these seemed closed in and tight. They had many events in the "atrium" which had inadequate seating and required folding chairs-why not use the small theater? Overall, I was expecting this new, large ship to to be a "wow" but it was not unlike other cruise ships.
