So we recently came back from our 2 week cruise going to ports such as Grand Turk, Dominica, Tortola, St Maarten, Barbados, Antigua etc...
We were a bit dubious given all the bad reviews on Brittania, admittedly we have only done two other cruises, Celebrity and also P&O Ventura last year to compare. First impressions of ship were good as you would expect although my partner preferred the feel of Ventura. We were upgraded from an obstructed balcony to a front ship deck 8 balcony..... Downfall being we were now right above the theatre!!!! So from 4pm to 10pm was banging, but we're young and had a late evening sitting so weren't to bothered...... So if you go deck 8 make sure your past rooms 320 or so. Room was fine but rather small and balcony also small for size. Large TV was good....
We found the staff and service very good and could not fault them whatsoever. Drinks as usual are reasonable, we found the food fine but not fantastically brilliant... I think Celebrity is a lot better. We dined in Horizon our main gripe like most was that they literally tried to put all three courses down you within 30mins! Your constantly rushed to order and as soon as you finish the starter the main is brought out..... So we never had a cheeseboard as we were still digesting the main let alone dessert!
Don't bother with a trip there's most to do! Beach is nice by port. We took a taxi to Cockburn Town to see the real island... Souvenirs, a very rustic bar on beach and a decent place to eat which is authentic.
Shabby port, noting much to see and didn't fancy a trip. Weather was bad otherwise we would have gone to Manse Bay beach via taxi.
Short walk to Bridgetown... We went onto beach which was nice.
