Sail Date: Oct 2015
Cabin: Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

I have returned from the inaugural sailing of NCL's newest ship, Escape. I was very much surprised at the changes to the layouts and formats from the 2 previous ships - NCL Breakaway and Getaway. Different classes. Different experience. I will not dwell on NCL running out of wine or not having some beers available. I was not bothered by this. I did expect some items to be off kilter until after Miami.

I traveled solo in a mini-suite. The cabin design and color selection proved relaxing and comfortable. The mini suite bathroom was large with ample room to move around, as was the shower. Storage was ample. My cabin steward was wonderful, responsive and attentive.

The ship has a familiar in layout with most restaurants and lounges on decks 6,7,8. The flow works well. I enjoyed the variety in choice of venues and attitudes in each. Note: I was puzzled by the piano player at the beer bar where the football game on the screen worked better. I throughly enjoyed the Food Republic, a for fee food venue, choosing to eat here several times.
