We are a family of 3 and were recommended this cruise line as it is a family ship and we have a 15 year old, we booked the trip in April and read all the reviews many reviews did say that the Jewel was a little dated ! A little ? . Embarkarcment was a disappointment due to no meet and greet from crew to welcome you on to there ship handing you a glass of bubbly ! We were met with hi do you want a drink by a waiter oh yes please ok he replied $4 please !! Really we have a full drinks package we said " oh that's for a plastic glass to keep " No to that then .

We found our family room omg how old bathroom acient bedroom furniture was chip broke my nails trying to open draws , our sons bed was a ripped old couch which was on the floor or a pull down bunk !! With ladders for a very small person not a six footer . The carpet was dirty and old to . Our toilet made loud gouging noises all the time 7 officers came to inspect it and eventually the noise stopped ,sleep and our time wasted , they said they didn't have another room ? .

The ship is very dated and old it had a climbing wall in which I saw no one on.The child's pool was not in use as they were decorating and fixing it , I think it opened on day 6 ? They had a teenage disco but no teenagers went . Our son was bored on the ship . The formal night is a joke I must check the meaning formal as many wore jeans t shirts in the dinning room or shorts but my partner wore a sleeve less t shirt to breakfast and was refused entry what a joke oh forgot the hat people yep baseball caps to all meal sittings !
