This was my first cruise experience and it will be my last.

I know it was August, but there were just too many kids running around for me and most were left to their own devices and unruly. There was a total lack of adult only areas and entertainments, there was a small area at the back of the boat (about 10% of deck 15) which was marked as Adult Only, but there were even kids in there at times and there was no shelter at all from the sun in that area.

The extra mandatory charges were overwhelming and really should be included in the basic price from the very start, its just a con to show them as individual service/gratuity charges if they are mandatory! The bar charges itemised on the till receipts have the cheek to ask if I want to add extra tips on top of the mandatory 18% already included!!! The Ultimate drinks package would have cost us over £600 (900 dollars) for our 2 person stateroom as you have to take the package for each person in your room whether you want to or not. My wife only drinks cola and maybe one cocktail a night so the drinks package is just another con as I drank and paid for my drinks one by one and spent less than half of the package cost for the both of us together. I went to a cocktails happy hour one evening and I was the only one there! I went to a beer tasting event while the wife went to the spa, out of 4000+ people on the boat only 7 people bothered to turn up! It cost me $40+ for a dry haircut and the guy before me was actually showing the barber how to dye his grey hairs black!
