Cabin: Scenic Grand Ocean View

We booked our cruise on the Carnival Sunshine and then got a little nervous after reading the reviews. We had a great time on the Sunshine and will definitely go on another cruise on this ship. We had a Scenic Ocean View cabin on the Lido deck and loved our cabin; it was a convenient location, great view, comfortable bed, and very cool air conditioning. Our room steward Dennis was thoughtful and very personable, provided top of the line service. The food in the dining room was fantastic and Andrei took great care of us. We had our breakfast in the Havana bar or at the Sunrise dining room. Guy's Burgers and the Blue Iguana were great lunch choices. There were lots of activities: bingo, trivia, comedy, karaoke and live shows. We enjoyed the pool on the Serenity deck.

Our ports were Aruba, Curaçao, and Grand Turk. All 3 of the islands were beautiful and offered great excursions. The locals were friendly and spoke English. once back in Port Canaveral the crew did a great job with the disembarkation; friendly and organized crew members made it painless.

i'm glad we ignored the negative reviews. The only thing I felt that needed to be improved was the size of the comedy club (it is too small) but I don't think there is anything they can do to change that.

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

We walked around the shopping area and had lunch at Margaritaville. Nice island with beautiful scenery.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

This was where we boarded the ship. The port was clean and organized.
