This was our 1st time with celebrity and for the most part it was fantastic. The ship is beautiful, the staff are superb, the food divine but the entertainment was woeful. The singers were weak & the dancers poor. They did have 3 outside professional performers (one I believe was fantastic). The only trouble was they were on at 8.15 but as we were on 2nd sitting for dinner at 8.45 we couldn't go. I did go to guest relations and was simply told they would "note for the future" Their only advice was to either ask the restaurant to hold our meal for an hour (which as we were sharing a table with 6 others we didn't feel we should have done) or pay to go into one of the speciality restaurants which we didn't want to do. (Why should we have to pay more for 3 out of 7 meals because celebrity hadn't thought to plan entertainment programme better!) The 4 shows we did go to see were barely a third full and people were constantly walking out. My husband fell asleep in 2 of them!!
We set up a group to keep in touch after the cruise and everyone has commented on how the entertainment had let the cruise down .
We had the 123 package free with cruise which was great & upgraded to the premium drinks package for $10 pp per day as we found most of the drinks we wanted weren't included in std package (cocktails, premium spirits, & beautiful speciality coffees.) Basically it was easier to just be able to hand the card over without having to look at price list all the time. We did get our money's worth so didn't waste the extra spent.
Cabin was spacious and shower lovely. Bed was big and comfortable. Simply couldn't fault it. View was over the top of the lifeboats but we didn't look down only out so not too disappointed
We flew into rome the day before so we had 2 days to see this beautiful city. We've been several times and simply love it. We stayed near termini station so just walked to there and got local train (45 mins journey -€12 eCh) then walked small distance from station to ship.
Got open top bus tour which was ok. Went back to ship for lunch then walked back into town and spent a couple of hours on the beach.
Got shuttle bus into town by cathedral then went to station and got rickety old train to soller followed by tram to port Soller. Beautiful day out.
Walked short distance to local station and got train in Monte Carlo. Loved it even though it was crowded. On way back we sat on beach in villefranche and had a little paddle before going back to tender.
