Celebrity has done a fine job of training its personnel in the art of hospitality - it is as much a personal gift inherent in the individual as it is an art which can be improved upon with proper training & encouragement. Aboard the Infinity in the Aqua Class & above with access to special dining facilities, everyone from a) the cocktail server that provided our first drink to b) the amazing staff in the Blu room to c) the fine mixologists (& entertainers!) in the Martini Bar to d) the casino dealers to e) the exercise facility staff to f) all staffing the various enjoyable entertainment & lounging facilities, to g) our cabin attendant were very gracious, empowered hospitality providers.

However, when it was necessary to eat in the Trelis room (main dining), the service was at best inconsistent, at times poor, and the food quality was substandard and served tepid at best. We informed the staff of these problems and they were gracious to credit our account for an amount representative of the meal's price. Nonetheless, this display of poor training & a lack of coordination between the front & back of the house left us very glad we were in Aqua class & not confined to dining in Trelis every night. I'm just hopeful that this poor performance in Trelis wasn't part of the "design" to encourage dining for an extra fee in other "premium" venues aboard ship . . . there was a concerted effort to upsell us at every turn. Thankfully, with the Aqua Class Blu dining room, and the "1-2-3 Go" package (Prepaid Gratuities, Drink Package & $300 onboard credit) we didn't need much of the upsell options.

We took advantage of one upsell restaurant option, we ate lunch at the Bistro ($10 per person upcharge) on the final day at sea. It was SUPERB! The service was exceptional. The food - I had a delicious flavorful soup, the most amazing lamb chops I've ever experience (that were not simply spiced/marinaded & grilled), and a crepe suzette for dessert that was as good as any that I've every tasted. Very good value for the upcharge!

Cabin Review

Aqua Class

Cabin A2

Our cabin in Aqua class was sufficiently sized and the veranda furnishings provided nice comfort from which to enjoy the views of the inside passage islands, whales & glaciers. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom adequately sized with a very fine shower that had a great shower head/multi-spray combination. There was more than ample space for stowing luggage (under the beds) & clothing (large armoire closet). Our specific cabin was on the starboard (right) side, slightly forward of amidships . . . I recommend the starboard side because there are no inside cabins that open onto the passageway on that side of the ship, making that passageway less crowded.
