The cruise started very well with exceptional staff service at the Barcelona airport and transportation to the Viking Star. We even enjoyed the wait for our state room as we were treated to a great lunch on deck and the excellent onboard staff service started there.

The Viking Star was spectacular and although there some glitches as we expected on an inaugral voyage, many of the problems were corrected or worked on quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed the ship from the size and it's handling in rougher seas. Electrical problems were ongoing however and was very disruptive for the passengers.

The restaurants offered excellent selections and our favorite was the Italian restaurant . Many meals were also enjoyed on the deck with great food and excellent service. We did take advantage of room service some mornings and always had prompt service with well prepared and hot meals. The only issue with room service was trying to contact them.
