I avidly read all the reviews about Thomson Majesty prior to this our 1st cruise, so I knew it was an old ship, i knew the staff were all very pleasant and happy to please and this was indeed the case.

I had booked this cruise 12 months in advance for my husbands 60th birthday. We wanted something extra special so booked a junior suite with a balcony - the balcony being very important. The balconies were a new addition in 2014 but blended in very well with the ship. We paid extra for a specific cabin 908 as we were assured by the travel agent and someone from Thomson cruises, that this cabin had a clear view with no obstruction of a lifeboat .

However, much to our great disappointment, this was not the case! there was indeed a lifeboat right in front of our balcony which obstructed all views if you were sitting down. We went to complain to reception but there was nothing they could do as all balcony cabins had been allocated. She logged it with Head Office and told us to take it up with our agent, which i will do.

Cabin Review

Cabin junior sujite balcony

Cabin was smaller than expected - but lots of storage with walk in wardrobe.

Balcony view was obstructed by lifeboat but cabins 910 and 912 are unobstructed
