Only my second cruise (Carnival Valor) so not a whole lot to compare it too but must start by saying AWESOME !!! My wife and I along with my stepdaughter (16) could have not asked for a better trip. First let me start by mentioning how clean the ship was. My wife is a clean freak and not once did she mention "that could be cleaner". Really impressed with the hand sanitizer throughout the ship and the cleanliness of the public restroom areas. There always seemed to be someone cleaning. Our room (mid ship mini-suite) was very spacious and laid out great. Having two woman with me trying to get ready in the mornings or for dinner at night we never felt cramped. The shower in our room was awesome and the bed very comfortable. Our room steward did a great job of keeping our room clean and even kept our balcony railing and furniture wiped off (impressive). She took time to show my stepdaughter how to make the towel animals too. We never got bored, there was always something going on. Joel the cruise director is one of the most energetic people I have ever met, he kept the whole ship involved and was always smiling no matter where you saw him. The pool area wasn't as bad as some have mentioned on here. We usually had to start on the upper deck every day (needed 3 chairs together), but by early afternoon we usually inched our way poolside. The service and activities around the pool were great. As for the food we usually ate breakfast in the Garden buffet and always found something we liked and the taste was good too, maybe a little more seasoning on a few items but overall good. We ate in the complimentary restaurants every night and really enjoyed the food. Most dinners where in the Tropicana room or Savor. We thought the food was excellent and the service good also. Casino stayed fairly crowded but accessible. My only complaint there was the 10% rake on the poker table, way too high. The ship seemed very stable and we didn't feel much rocking except on Thursday and the captain said there was a storm out in the ocean that was creating larger than normal waves, but no big deal. We went to the illusionarium and would highly recommend it to anyone. The magicians were all very good and left you asking yourself how did they do that. That was the only onboard entertainment we did. Would also like to mention the Waterfront. Almost every evening after dinner we would stroll down the Waterfront bar area and get a drink and always found three open wicker chairs to sit in and enjoy the ocean breeze, I can't believe more people didn't take advantage of this part of the boat. Well I was going to try to keep this short and simple so let me end by saying none of us wanted to get off the ship and are all ready trying to plan our next cruise. We definetly would recommend this ship and we would also re-book it

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Excellent and very roomy. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, wish I had the pillows at home

Port Reviews

Tortola

We went to Garden Cane Beach, took the taxi (what a ride). This may have been the highlight of our trip. Beautiful beach, many amenities, no pressure from locals, great drinks and very reasonable prices

Nassau

Took a cab to Cabbage Beach (public) but driver dropped us off at Atlantis (he thought we would like to see it), he said the beach was just around the corner, ha ha. After a twenty minute walk we finally got there just to be hounded every 2 minutes to buy something from a local, it was so bad we only stayed 1 1/2 hours. Only reason we stayed that long was the $20 I gave for just an umbrella (no chairs). It was the most overpriced beach I can remember. After that we took a cab back to the pier and went to the straw market (another mistake). The same thing there, someone always pushing something in your face to buy instead od letting you shop. We then went to Senior Frogs to eat, felt ripped off there too. I paid $71 for a burger/fries, a kids meal, a salad and two beers. We finally decided to just get back on the ship. Won't ever get off here again

Miami

Embarkation went very smoothly. Slight delay disembarking. We didn't spend any time in Miami so really nothing to tell about. The shuttle service we used to and from Ft. Lauderdale airport was great. It was SAS transportation, very professional, timely and I thought the cost was fair ($15 per person)
