My husband and I have been on many cruises, but really wanted to try out the super large Oasis of the Seas. We didn't choose the Oasis of the Seas for its itinerary, we just wanted to try out the larger ship. We are not beach/water people so Labadee, Haiti, although it was very pretty, did not impress us. But it was a lot better than the Jamaica stop. I had found a historical walking tour on the web. We started out and should have suspected something when the whole port was fenced in. Outside the fence, we saw lots of policemen. We were accosted by many people trying to sell us excursions. We kept on walking and found a few places on the map, but we didn't feel safe so we returned to the ship after only an hour. We heard the same comment from our tablemates at dinner that night. The only ship excursion we took was to Chichen Itza, Mexico. The 3 hour trip, one way, was definitely worth the time and the money. The snack, box lunch (including soda), and water were more than adequate and tasty. Our tour guides were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and informative. We were provided with earphones so that we could hear our guide during the actual tour.

The ship was beautiful. The entertainment spectacular!. The service was exceptional. The food very good, but not over the top. The only complaint we had about the dining arrangements was that there wasn't enough seating in the Windjammer Marketplace (the morning, lunch, and supper buffet). Several mornings there was a waiting line to get in. Although there are other venues for breakfast, it is irritating to have to find an alternative when your primary place to eat is full. Check out the Park Cafe. it is a small cafe in Central Park that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beef sandwich at lunch is delicious. Also, the Solarium cafe is another alternative to the Windjammer Marketplace for breakfast and lunch. Very relaxing atmosphere, with wicker furniture with pads. Outside the Solarium cafe area there are lounge chairs and hot tubs, with a meandering canal. I should mention that there are interactive screens, conveniently located, that show you where the restaurants and theaters are located and how full they are.

The entertainment was not only great, it was also very diverse. Many venues needed reservations, which can be booked before the cruise. Be aware that the times and dates of the entertainment can change, which requires some rescheduling on your part. This can be annoying. They schedule you for the new time, but you may already have something scheduled for that timeframe.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin C1

The cabin was very nice. Our balcony overlooked Central Park and the bar elevator. Our cabin steward, Raul, was fantastic. I told him the first day that I would like some ice and he renewed it twice a day for the remainder of the cruise.

Port Reviews

Labadee

We are not beach people, but the beach areas were very pretty. There were lots of lounge chairs and some shade. There were also cabanas and huts that I assume you can rent. The only complaint was the guys that wanted you to tip them for putting out your lounge chairs. They got real testy if you got a chair yourself.

Falmouth

There wasn't much to see except for shopping. The port area was fenced in which should have told us that outside the fence was not a very nice area. Returned to the ship within an hour.
