This review is a bit long i wrote it as i was onboard, if you have any questions please ask away i will help if i can... This to me was a no frills budget cruise. my expectations were not high which made my vacation even better. I had a Inside Cabin E119 Handicapped room I did this cruise to specifically look at how they handles HC passengers my DW Juli is in a small travel scooter.

Carnival Elation Cabo San Lucas MX 2-04-08

Day one We got to San Diego about 11amThey have a drive through bag drop off were the Porters meet you and take your bags and Parking is across the street we then walked next door and had Lunch at Anthony's...wonderful view of the Ship from there, I had the Fish and chips...it was wonderful Juli my DW had a Crab Salad Sandwich which everyone was eating from her and was raving about it.. After we eat we wondered over and checked in about 12:15pm the process was painless and went fast , Juli and I went through the VIP check In without a wait, but my DB and SIL and my DS and BIL got through there check in before us....go figure...got onto the boat and we sat around and people watched until our room was ready about 1:30 we dropped off our stuff, the room is ok nothing to scream about. Juli's scooter fits through the door ok but not a lot of room inside to store it and move around .and it looks like she will have a problem getting into the regular rooms so it looks like HC rooms for any future Carnival cruises but we will check it out later in my DB or DS room just to make sure... We then walked around for a little bit to find the layout of the Land.. Not really real impressed with the layout it is not that easy to get around here...if you do stairs it is ok but with a scooter it is tough....(up a floor ...down the hall...up a floor.. kinda thing) we do have a elevator close to our room but it does not go all the way up.. the other one down the hall does not go down...so it will be a battle to get around Then it was back to the room our Bags had arrived so we unpacked and I was going to find my DS and my DB room's but I forgot which rooms they had I just kind of kicked backed and read the capers and checked out the TV.. and waited for the Muster ...they called it right around 3:45 we were in section B, we all gathered and had a seat.. it was right by the Casino they went through the process told us all how to survive, They then marched everyone out to where the boats were ....they had made an announcement that if you were unable to climb 21 steps to stay were you were and a special needs assistant would help you.. so we sat there and watched everyone get into a single file line and march out down the hall in too I guess the secret room where you can grab a lifeboat, and we just sat and waited for someone to assist us...nobody ever showed up. I guess HC people get to go down with the ship first....(kind of concerned about that) After the Muster we went for a M&G up on the Veranda deck for Sail Away, we went by the Navy Base watched a bunch of Navy ships in port and even coming into port we also saw a Sub coming in...that was real kool....also saw allot of helicopters flying around landing and taking off.. We had a 5:45 dinner so after the Sail Away we went back to the room to change, we meet or Room Stewart Richard he seemed nice...I tipped him $20 and asked for Ice talked to him a little, and off to Dinner.. The doors opened at 5:40 no problem finding our table it was nice...table for 10,.. 8 in our group and another couple who seems real nice.. I was still kind of Full from lunch and the Boat was very Rocky and I guess the Vicoden and Funship drink I had are not all working in harmony here...I ordered the ceaser salad and the filet, the salad was just ok nothing to make we drool over it again, the filet was cooked perfectly but was a bit dry, overall a good meal not great...no dessert...then off to the casino ..they had a wide variety of table game choice which surprised me, I was impressed. I lost my daily allotment pretty fast and decided to call it a day.. *side note* the scooter did fit into a regular room but you could not fit a piece of paper in between the door frame and the scooter
