Who we are: I am 38 and sailed with my mother age 58 along with another mother and daughter age 60 and 36. We are from Salisbury NC about 30 minutes from Charlotte NC. We sailed on October 7 through October 14 and we had an inside cabin on the Empress Deck.

Sunday October 7: We flew from Charlotte NC to San Juan on a direct flight and arrived around 11:30 am. We arrived at the port around 12:00 and found no lines and were able to board the ship. We were not allowed in the rooms until around 2:30 pm. We ate lunch at the buffet and then waited until we could check into the rooms. The room was an inside cabin and everything was fine except for the hairdryer which was broken. I reported this to our Cabin Steward and it was fixed within 3 days. We walked around the ship and found deck chairs to lounge on until 5:00 pm and then we attended an Excursion Presentation in the theater. This is where the cruise director goes over the best excursions to take on the islands. They have a drawing where everyone can register and several people won free excursions. My mom won a free 5 Star Catamaran Cruise for Barbados. After the presentation we went to the Galaxy Dining Room for the open seating dinner. I had a chicken and pasta dish with Chocolate Melting Cake for dessert. It was all delicious. The Lifeboat Drill is at 9:30 pm and the Sailaway party on the deck is at 10:30 pm. They had a band playing and a lot of people were dancing.

Monday October 8, St Thomas: We ate breakfast at the Buffet and then exited the boat and found a driver who took all 4 of us on an island tour for $17.00 per person. The van was open air and he took us to several lookout spots to take pictures of St Thomas and to shop. This night we had assigned seating in the Universe Dining room at a table for four. I had Salmon then Tiramisu for dessert. Delicious! We attended the 8:30 pm show which was a singer from the Platters as well as the 10:30 pm show which featured the Carnival Singers and Dancers and a comedian. Anthony Acosta is one of the funniest comedians I have ever seen!
