Enchantment of the Seas - Western Caribbean

Sail Date: August 2007
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

First to start off this was my fourth cruise traveling with my 3 children. Two of them are 17 and one was 15. We took the risk of flying down the same day as the cruise because the prices were cheaper. We have a 6 o'clock flight leaving from New York and we arrived at Fort Lauderdale at 9:30. The cruise port is literally 5 minutes away from the airport and the taxi cab cost 15 dollars.

Embarkation: We arrived at Port Everglades at about 10:45 in the morning. There were no lines at all so we did the check in process, and we were eating lunch in Windjammer at 11:00. Fast and Easy.

Key West: When leaving the ship you forget that you are in still in the United States, that's how beautiful it is. We didn't book anything shore excursions since we weren't going to be in port for a long time. So we decided to walked around and go shopping. It was the best thing not to do shore excursion because everything was so close it walking distance. When going to Key West you can not More forget to go the Key Lime Factory, they had the best key lime pie.

Cozumel: Today we also decided not to do a shore excursion because there were cloudy skies and we thought that it was going to rain, so we didn't want to waste our money. Last year we came here while on the Carnival Miracle so we went to the same beach as before. The Playa Mia was a really good pick. It was fifteen dollars per person for all day use of there facilities.

Day at Sea: There was so much for you to do today!! You could do the Rock climbing wall, the jump zone or hit it big in the casino. Also at the pool area the belly flop contest and the sexy legs contest were both going on. There was so much to choose from so you would never feel bored.

Cococay Bahamas: This was the best stop I have ever been to. Royal Caribbean moved the party from the ship to the island since we were the only ship there. Here they have beautiful beaches where you can rent a floating mat or you can relax at the beach. They also had an aqua park and Waterslide for a small fee, and it was worth the money. Lunch was also served for free there so you didn't have to worry about buying lunch. Best time I ever had.

Room: Our room was a large oceanview with 2 twin bed and 2 more twin beds that pulled down from the ceiling. The room had a lot of drawers to put your stuff, but not enough room to fit 4 people. Our room steward was great always left us with a clean room.

Fuel: This was the teen center for my 15 and 17 year old. My daughters didn't come back to the room sometimes until 4 in the morning because they were having so much fun, they didn't want to go to sleep.

Dining: We decided to save the money and not go to chops any of the 5 nights. The dining room service was great. The food came out so fast you never had to wait. Our waiter Reynaldo was so nice. By the second day he remembered everything about us. They were all so friendly. Every night the whole dining room staff would come out and put on a show. It was very funny seeing them dance and sing.

Entertainment: I believed that the shows could have been a little bit better, but I still enjoyed them.

Crew: Everyone always looked so happy to be there, that it puts you in a really good mood yourself.

Disembarkation: Worst I ever been through. You had to be out of your room by 8 in the morning, and breakfast closed at 8:30. We were given the last color tag so we had to wait in the theater for about 2 and a half hour to be called. Once called we then had to wait on a really long line. We would have missed our flight to New York if it wasn't delayed by the airline for 2 hours. We were lucky.

Overall: Great ship, very clean and beautiful. Looked new. Loved it would travel with RCCL again. Less
