We had the cruise line arrange our flight from Reno to LA, which may not be the way to go in the future, we had to leave Reno at 0600 and arrived in LA so early that the folks at Princess did not expect us so early. Next time we will make sure we leave either later in the morning or arrange the flight ourselves. The waiting area at the Sheraton was just fine and the breakfast and service was excellent. The transportation and check-in was great and should be recommended. We had no problem getting on board, the service on board was excellent from start to finish. It was pre-arranged to have two single beds in our cabin, but the pillows were like stones, and I had to ask for some different pillows, our cabin attendant helped us out without any problem. The food was excellent every

day, however, by the third day, I was looking forward to some plain food, meat and potatoes, not a cook's designer idea. It took us a couple of days to figure out where everything was, keeping the little map they furnish in each room with you is a good idea. One more comment about our cabin, the bathroom and shower is very small, not made for a tall or large person. I slept with the balcony door open from the second night on, the fresh air helped me sleep. However, I was born and raised around the beach and ocean, my wife was not. When the wind began to howl, and you could hear the waves, I was in 7th heaven, my wife kept dreaming of the final scenes of "Titantic" We were next to the top deck, I reassured her that if she was worried about waves splashing in, at that level it would be the least of our worries. The entertainment was fine all the way, Piano Man, was my favorite, but get there early at least 20 minutes earlier if you want a good seat. We had two formal nights the first Sunday and the Thursday night of the week. Suit and tie was expected however, some young guys came in and were seated in the corner wearing shorts and pullovers. Every time it is formal night, picture taking is in full force, and the cruise line is waiting for you to take your picture, for a small charge of course. If there is any downside to this cruise it would be the selling of a Savy Traveler booklet, for $25 dollars and a sales pitch that would put P.T. Barnum to shame. The lady is even on the TV in each room telling what a great bargain. And the cruise line drops you off in each port close to a "Golden Zone" Believe me, it called "Golden" because that is where the cruise lines and shops take all the gold they can from the tourists. Avoid these spots and the book if you can, unless THE DONALD is meeting you at the port of call.I have to tell you again, the sevice was excellent, and I enjoyed meeting the folks from eastern Europe. Our fellow passengers were fun to talk to you and this being our first trip, we got lots of advice, many were on their 5th or more trip. The trips ashore were fine, the Fiestas are highly recommended at Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We had very little shore time in Cabo San Lucas, which could have been great if we had more than 5 hours on shore. We had no trouble getting off on our final day, a little wait of about 30 minutes, but we were taken to the airport to catch our flight without any problems. Bottom line - Would I do this again? Yes, but I would try to arrange stopping at a port every day and stay longer in each one.
