The first issue that we experienced was that the ship had engine trouble and we were told that we would not be able to make the Jamaica port.. As this cruise only had 2 ports of call, the other being Labadee, obviously Jamaica was the main reason for taking this specific cruise tour. The small amount of refund offered, done with onboard credit is rather insulting given that we also had to pay airfare and, transfer fees in addition to the cruise fare and then didn’t get to see Ocho Rios. This matter was casually handled with a letter in our door, instead of a personal announcement and apology by the Captain.

Royal Carbbiean's position that the amount of credit refunded for the loss of the Jamaica port was based uponhow much you paid for your stateroom is insulting as it presumes that those who paid less are less deserving. It is a very prejudicial position. No activities were offered to make up for the additional day at sea, and no comps (free beverages, etc). The Air conditioning was shut down on most of the ship due to lack of engine power, and it was unbearably hot and boring.

During our last day at sea, we were asked by crew to move as we were sunning on the deck so they could wash the decks. Astounded, we refused; but they insisted; and our lazy sunfilled naps were completely disrupted. Afterwards, that same crew performed "maintenance" as loudly as they could 10 feet from us. We reported the incident to Guest Relations but received nothing in the way of assistance. Our last day at sea was a total WASTE.
