We have previously cruised on Carnival, Princess and Celebrity, having done about 12 cruises. I would say we are experienced cruisers. We chose MSC because of the cost, it was the best deal. After having booked the cruise I came on this site to check out the reviews and based on what I was reading I was very concerned. I spent weeks thinking this was going to be the cruise from hell. All of my fears were for naught. None of the previous comments applied to our cruise, the rooms were clean, the cabin stewards very receptive and available. The food was very good with a lot of choices for me, as a vegetarian and my husband who is meat eater. The portion sizes were fine, who wants to have huge plates of food? In any case you can ask for more, if you want. This was one of the complaints I saw on this site. The entertainment was good, the onboard staff were very friendly and always available. The casino staff very professional and the dining room waiters were so nice and accommodating. The Spa prices were quite reasonable as compared to other cruise lines and they were of very good quality and value. The only issue we have is that there is a charge to use the locker rooms in the gym which we found outrageous and the debarkation process needs some work. However if you have cruised before, you know that this is still an issue with some other cruise lines. We do not have any complaints and would cruise with MSC again.
