I have been on many cruises - mostly on Carnival and I must say they are on a steady decline. The food is just not as good as it used to be. There are not as many onboard activities as there used to be. The entertainment is seriously lacking. I was expecting a lot more, as we have experienced in the past, but on this trip, I was not impressed. If it was my first cruise with Carnival, I don't know if I would go back. I did have fun and did enjoy my trip, but not because of the wonderful experience on the ship. The food was average at best, the ship stores were lacking stock and the activities were not very engaging and sparse. Our cabin steward did his job just fine but he was lacking any real interest when we tried to engage him. I was pretty disappointed as we had much better experiences in the past.
The cabin was fine during the day, but got suffocatingly hot every night around 2am. It is like the air just turns off at night. It was so bad it woke us up and I was in a pool of sweat. We called in the morning and they came around 7pm to check it. He opened a vent and said it will be fine. Nope. Miserable. We referred to our room as the "sweat lodge."
We only caught the comedy show once as they are always packed. Many of the people stay for all the shows so there is not much chance of getting a seat if you don't get there really early. The venue was changed to a comedy club which is much smaller than the place they used to have it. Interesting choice. We saw a woman comedian. She was okay.
Very average room. Average balcony. Below piano bar - sometimes could hear it.
