We sailed February 8, 2015 on the Liberty from Port Canaveral. It was our first time cruising, and we would definitely go again.

Since it was our first cruise, I was nervous and not sure what to expect. I had heard only great things about Carnival, from how good the service was, to the friendly staff everywhere on board, about the good food, and amazing drinks. Embarkation was pretty speedy, and once we were on the boat, it didn't take but about an hour to start getting our bearings. Our luggage arrived quickly to our room, and we were able to begin unpacking before starting to explore the ship. Our room (1393, oceanview) was definitely spacious enough for the two of us, with a shower/sink/toilet/counter with plenty of shelves around the mirror to store your things, a couch, chair, and table, which we used to keep our luggage on during the trip, king bed, TV, small desk/counter area, and mini fridge. The closet space was also more than enough, and hangers were provided, although I brought a few of my own to hang things to steam in the bathroom. Hair dryer was included in the drawer, which was a plus, but wouldn't have been powerful enough for my really thick hair if it was long. Tip: if you bring bottled water and sodas on the ship with you, which we recommend, just take everything out of your minifridge and keep on the shelf behind the TV while your things get cold. We weren't charged for them since we never used them, only our own.

The ship was nice, overall, but you could start to see her age in a few places (a little rust on the decks here and there, a few broken foot rails in the bars, etc) but was clean and sturdy. We found the best place to hang out during the day was on the serenity deck and toward the end of the ship on the same deck as the water slide. There was hardly any noise, including from the giant screen. Tip: If it rains during the day but you still want to hang out by the pool and drink and have the "cruise" atmosphere, head to the indoor small pool and two hot tubs, located near the pizza.
