Was waiting in anticipation to see how Carnival was since it had been years since our last Carnival cruise. I was pleasantly surprised. The ship was beautiful (a little confusing at first since not all decks go all the way through). Most service was great. Food was ok - cruise line food never has much taste. There was a lot of variety offered. The Guy's Burger Joint and the Blue Iguana and Pizza Palace were GREAT additions. The burger joint needs to have a little big longer hours (they are only open from 12-6).

AIRPORT TRANSFERS FROM HOBBY AIRPORT: We purchased the Carnival transfers since we were arriving same day (which we never do in February). They were very disorganized at the airport. They tried to get everyone organized, handed out numbers, then couldn't get people to line up in number order. Then we headed to the bus. Had a female bus driver who couldn't lift some of the luggage, then they were complaining because it wouldn't all fit and we packed too much. Finally, it was resolved and we were on our way.

EMBARKATION: Fast and easy. Felt sorry for those that didn't complete their pre-boarding paperwork. That line was long. We arrived about 2pm so we got right on and were able to go right to our stateroom (although luggage did take a little longer) The staff taking pictures on the dock were not very friendly at all. Usually they are one of your first impressions and they just seemed to be going through the motions.

Booked a guarantee inside room and weren't sure where we would end up. Ended up in this room and it was great. There were only two of us so we made it work. For two of us, lots of closet space. Definitely lacking on plug outlets. Was adequate space for everything - of course small entryway. Would not recommend more than two people in this room. TERRIFIC LOCATION! Under spa so very quiet and just one stairway up to get to the spa to use the steamroom and whirlpool and equipment or get spa treatments. Also, there is a front deck area that is accessible from Deck 10 which offers fantastic views, I don't think many know about. Would highly recommend this room. Close to deck 9 where the buffets were and never experienced a long elevator wait.
