We just returned from a 10 day cruise on the Equinox. While we had a good time, there were several issues. We usually travel Celebrity, as we have been so happy with the superior service, food and amenities. We had a concierge class stateroom aft. The cabin was filthy to celebrity standards. There was an inch of dust under the sofa seat which included a 1 1/2 inch woman's fake fingernail. The balcony was filthy and sticky. The pillows and seating are all in need of replacement. The service on Celebrity has also substantially deteriorated over the early days. While the crew was pleasant enough, they did not go above and beyond to even get to know you which we are used to on this line. Our cabin attendant was ok. One food server in the café could not even understand english in order to get me the piece of bread I wanted. The pool service was lacking. Empty plates and cups lined the chairs without being picked up immediately as usual. Perhaps that was because there was no where outside for passengers to put their finished trays (actually they no longer provide trays, only plates). I believe that since they included tips automatically, the staff does not feel the need to go above and beyond. We always tipped more for that, but this time, felt no one deserved any extra. This is one of the reasons we always travelled Celebrity. The food quality has also deteriorated. It used to be the signature of the ship.

My main question here is has anyone gotten sick on this cruise? I began with severe stomach pains, could not even get food or water down, never mind the time spent in the cabin bathroom. I have an autoimmune condition, so was very careful not to be around coughing people (of which there were many) and not to eat or drink anything in any port. About a week into the cruise, my stomach issues began. We stayed away from the main dining room at that time. Our usually menu included fruit for breakfast (which was worse day after day - very little selection) and the salad for lunch. I did not see the ship dr as I figured my immune system caused me to pick something up. After a day and a half I did feel better, so started eating my usual again, including the salad bar. It only took a day and again the same symptoms returned. We missed 2 more nights in the main dining room. On the last morning of the cruise in the café, there was talk by many people of having been sick.
