My husband and I are in our 40's with four children ages 19 down to 9. We believe there's no such thing as a bad cruise. If the food is bad, order something else. If you see a line, go do something else and come back another time. This was our 26th cruise and our 5th on NCL.
Embarkation:
We arrived at the cruise port at 12:30 which is late for us. It took 30 minutes to drop off luggage and wait for my husband to park. Then we waited in line to leave our luggage at the first check-in point. Then we waited in line to go through security. Then we stood in line for two hours to get our key cards. When I asked about the delay, they said many international families did not have proper documentation. Maybe they need an international line and a U.S. line just like customs? By the time we got on the ship, it was 3:30 and time for the muster drill. All bars and restaurants closed down for the drill and we were all tired, thirsty, hungry, and cranky. But there's no such thing as a bad cruise.
9585 was convenient to the mid-ship stairs and elevators. It was quiet every day except one afternoon when the crew had a drill and we could hear them behind the wall.
