I went on the November 16th Western Caribbean cruise on the Silhouette with my parents in their 60's.
Embarkation - We flew in to Fort Lauderdale international the night before and stayed at the Springhill Suites in Dania Beach. This hotel offered a package that included pickup from the airport, as well as a shuttle to the cruise port in the morning, and complimentary breakfast. Across the street was a shopping centre which included a K-Mart to pick up any last minute things for the trip. Something for people to keep in mind, if you are planning to buy wine to take on board, (carry on only) Florida will not allow you to purchase alcohol before noon on Sundays, so best to go the night before. Boarding the ship at Port Everglades went smoothly, however the lines were a bit on the long side, so make sure to give yourself time to get through security.
The ship was very nice, with many bars and lounges, and our cabin 6110 with a balcony was surprisingly very spacious! The staff onboard seemed to be primarily made of people from eastern Europe, and the Caribbean, and all were friendly and helpful. The Dining room was very nice, and offered the standard Celbrity menu's you will find on their other ships with two formal nights. The buffet was large, but became very busy at breakfast and lunch. (earlier is better) There is also the aqua spa with some included items, but I never did eat there.
Big spacious rooms. Bathroom larger than most ships I've been on previously. Couch can be converted to a bed for a third person. Lots of storage.
