This was our second river cruise and our first Scenic River Cruise. It met or exceeded our expectations at all levels. From the moment we were met at the airport in Zurich until we departed the ship and were transferred to the airport in Amsterdam, the service was friendly and efficient. If you needed or wanted something, just ask. Sometimes, you didn't need to ask, your request was anticipated.

The ship was spotless and I can honestly say we have never had a cabin stewardess who more thoroughly cleaned our cabin on any cruise, either ocean or river cruise. The food was good and the all inclusive beverages included premium spirits. The two off ship events were fun and well organized. The shore excursions were what we expected, but with one being a total disappointment, and two being highlights. To Scenic's credit, the one that was a total disappointment is not on this itinerary next season.

We enjoyed the mix of passengers from Australia, Canada, UK and a few Americans (us+2). Everyone was very friendly. The cruise director was great fun. He also was helpful if someone had a personal problem. The crew and officers were flexible. For example, one day the weather was going to be much warmer than usual, so a BBQ was planned for the upper deck and cooking was done there and all the food brought up there. Umbrellas were set up at the tables, etc. Great fun. A great cruise!
