We weren't at all sure what to expect on this southbound cruise but are easily pleased so had a great time and of course how else do you get to see that coast and the ports along it?
Embarcation was no problem, we had made our own arrangements for a pre-cruise tour, it's not at all hard to organise over the internet by the way, apart from trying to get some information from RCI - still waiting for a response! We arrived at Seward by bus from Anchorage at around 5.20 pm and were straight through the checks and on the ship in no time.
The public areas of the ship seemed adequate, the buffet dining in Windjammer was great for breakfast and lunch, plenty of variety once you had done a reccy to find what was on offer. Also loved discovering the cafe by the solarium for a snack at odd times, good salads too. The only time we were really aware of the number of people aboard was the crush for the Chocolate Buffet - gave it a miss and the poolside BBQ ditto, loungers around the pool in the solarium were in demand that last day as cool anywhere else outside.
Loved our cabin, liked being on a lower deck and truly, we had to look out the window sometimes to check the boat was moving it was so quiet. Port side, midship, well placed for stairs and elevators and no problem finding a place to hang or stow our clothes etc. Bathroom clean and regularly checked by our friendly steward.
