I was concerned about booking this cruise after reading so many negative reviews. But I took a chance a booked it since the price was so good. My conclusion is that some of the negative reviews were correct, some not. I will explain in detail below, but cutting to the chance, would I recommend an MSC Divina cruise? Yes. But depending on how much you have already cruised, you may need to adjust you expectations to ensure a good experience.
The Ship:
The ship itself was beautiful. Clean classy and new. Wonderful. But the layout was lacking in people flow... meaning that you need to walk through specific bars to get to other parts of the ship. And most of the public spaces could have been land locked if you did not know better... meaning very few places with a view outside, which was a shame. The only place with a truly commanding view, the Galaxy Disco and Restaurant, which reminded everyone of RCCL's signature Viking Lounge, was never open for drinks until late in the evening. Or tradition is to always have a nice happy hour before dinner, but since the only place with a real view was never open, we resorted to bringing our own drinks from other places and sitting in the Galaxy for a little happy hour before dinner. It seemed very short sighted and a waste of great real estate. Most of the other bars felt compartmentalized without much in the way of highlighting the fact that you were at sea. There was no natural flow to the ship... and the lounges were also the hallways. RCCL has. a great thing going with their promenades that run the length of the ship like an avenue. Nice layout. Nice flow. This ship. Not so much.
