We chose the Pride because we could drive to the port and save travel time and airfare. We previously sailed from Miami, had to fly in the night before and stay at a hotel, then pay for transportation to the port, then back to the airport after the cruise. The Port of Baltimore was very convenient. We drove there and were able to park the car for the week for a nominal fee. The boarding process went very smoothly,

We booked early and were able to get two connecting rooms for our party of 5. This worked out very well. We were able to keep the connecting door open, and they also opened the connecting door on the balcony, which gave us a nice size balcony. The food in the dining room was excellent, as were our servers (Louis, Alex, and Barbara). They knew us by name the first time we arrived for dinner. We also had a wonderful room steward, Rodney. Rodney went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed. All staff that we came in contact with provided excellent customer service.

The excursions were pretty good. We booked all of our excursions through Carnival. We paid more than if we had planned them on our own, but I wanted the comfort of the guarantee that the ship would wait for us if we were delayed for any reason. We spent a day at the Magic Kingdom. The day went by quickly, but we planned ahead and were able to ride all but one of our favorite rides. We visited Balmoral Island in Nassau. The beach and water were beautiful, however the food was just ok, and very expensive. We also did the beach getaway to Taino Beach in Freeport. The weather didn't cooperate, however, the staff went out of their way to make sure that we were entertained the entire time, even during periods of rain. I don't know if it was due to the weather, but we had to wade through lots of seaweed to get to the clearer water, which was kind of gross. Overall, I would recommend all the excursions we experienced.
