We just returned from a seven night cruise aboard the Carnival Liberty. I went with my husband, our son and his girlfriend. This was my 8th cruise, and 7th on Carnival. We had a balcony cabin and the kids were upgraded from an inside to a balcony as well. We were on the upper deck-6.

Embarkation: Pretty smooth. Did not check sodas and waters that I had in my carry on although I told them I had some. Within 30 minutes we had passed security, checked in, had our room key and was aboard the boat.

Cabin: Typical Carnival Cabin. I never have had any issues with the cabin, but a few minor and one a little more serious this time. There was an opened apple sauce container in the mini bar and a plastic cup in one of the cabinets (clean). This led me to believe room was not inspected and cleaned thoroughly from previous guest. No big deal. We just discarded the apple sauce. A bigger deal was the coverlet on our bed smelled like "old man's aftershave". Then I broke out in a rash and had large whelts on my arms that itched. I did notify the room steward and as requested she promptly changed all the linens and I did not have issues after that. The room had flat screen TV, adequate storage, clean/spacious balcony. Sofa seemed a bit aged. The typical amenities provided in the bathroom were not there this cruise. Our steward was very nice and immediately handled all requests.
