This was our 7th sailing with Carnival and our worst! We have never had any complaints with Carnival but this time was different. We had FTTF and it was great for embarkation and debarkation. We will do this from now on for sure. We were on the ship by 11:30 am and off by 8 am which worked perfectly for us.

PROS: Our room steward was awesome. Our balcony room itself 8284 & our interior for the older kids were perfect location to everything, especially the Lido deck. Guy's Burgers and the Burrito Bar was the best food we had on the ship. Breakfast was good too so no complaints there. Plenty of activities but wish there would have been more Karaoke for all ages. (Seemed like there were only 2 nights which all the family could go too). Seaside movies were great. The first set of comedians were awesome, next set not so much. (I really think that Carnival needs to move the comedy shows to the theater as I think more people go to the comedy shows than the real shows).

CONS: Our balcony door whistled even though I locked it which is the 1st time that ever happened. We never held the balcony door open, stood with it open, etc but it was hot in our room and I felt like I could not get it cool in there even though it was on the coldest it would go. The fridge never got cold enough to cool our drinks so we kept going up to lido to get ice but luckily only one flight of stairs up. (There was no ice bucket and the room steward said that they did not have any) The neighbor smoked marijuana every morning and night along with cigars so if we were in port it was miserable and we were not able to use the balcony as there was no breeze to get rid of the smell not too mention that we didn't want to smell like it or our kids to be subjected to it. I called guest services, not to tell on them, but to ask if anything could be done about the smoke smell coming from the balcony as we paid for ours just like they did, but really felt we could never use it & they said there was nothing they could do that they were allowed to smoke whatever they wanted on the balcony. (Suggestion, a balcony floor with no smoking) We did not enjoy the new menus. I have 1 girl that's picky, 1 a little adventurous and 1 very adventurous eater but they could not find many appetizers they would eat and ended up with a flat iron steak every night as their dinner. My picky eater just asked for lettuce with ranch for an appetizer and every time it came with everything and blue cheese crumbles, so she nicely picked it off and said "I really hate to waste this, can they just not put some lettuce in a bowl? and the server said "no". This has never been an issue before. Our dining room service was terrible. There were 6 of us and every night 1 or more of us didn't get the appetizers we ordered. My daughters' steaks never came out cooked correctly, drinks went dry, pork loin tough every time, we were always served last, and chocolate lava cake overcooked. We always tip our servers well after the cruise, very well and we didn't this time and this is the first time we have ever had bad service on a Carnival cruise. I hate the new Bingo as now they are doing computer bingo and it takes out the fun of chance because it seemed that they knew someone should be close to winning or had a Bingo and hadn't realized it. Casino was too smoky. I don't have a problem with smoking but please have some non-smoking tables. My girls got sick as did about 200 others but we weren't as bad off as some of the others, no fever or chills, just alot of trips to the bathroom. Some how 2 of our luggage bags were severely damaged in the debarking process beyond ever being able to use again. Not sure if it was the Carnival loaders or the port but they would have had to be thrown around harshly for the damage they received.

Cabin Review

Nice room, quick access to lido via stairs. Room nor fridge would get cold. Very stuffy and we did not leave balcony door open at all.
