A huge set back for Princess

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Having cruised with Princess before (Crown Princess and Caribbean Princess) we were expecting, at least, the same standards, if not substantially better. Mistake!

The ship is beautiful but nothing seems to work properly:

The service is sub-standard compared with other ships. The crew seems to be totally demotivated and uninterested.

The food is OK but nothing to write home about.

We had to give up using the lifts because they are so crowded that sometimes we had to wait 15 minutes. Most passengers were making fun of it.

The only pool (apart from the retreat) has movies being played out loud instead of something relaxing while you chill out.

The entertainment is so so poor. The shows have been curtailed to 30 minutes only and the performances are 3rd class, always ending in an hysterical appearance of the cruise director instructing the audience to clap.

Two technical faults during this cruise. The first was a power failure More that lasted about 15 minutes. The second was an engine problem that resulted in a 3 hour late arrival to the first port. All the disembarkations were absolutely chaotic. No one seemed to know what to do and we had to wait sometimes one hour to disembark.

Royal Princess never again, thank you very much. Less

Cabin review: Royal Princess C410

Cabin was very good, although we only saw its attendant on the day of departure. Never again.
