Ship Facts: Celebrity Equinox Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Equinox Deck Plans
Our first cruise, loved it, wonderful experience

My daughter and I have just returned from our first ever cruise on the Celebrity Equinox and we had an amazing time.

We flew with virgin Atlantic to Miami which was very pleasant, our transfer went well and we stayed the first night at the Sheraton hotel on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, spent the first morning in the sun on the beach and our transfer to the port and onto the boat went smoothly.

Our trip entailed 2 days at sea, then 5 days on a different Caribbean island and then 2 days back at sea.

We had a cabin on the 6th deck and we were aware we were going to have a restricted view when we booked, but this wasn't a problem at all, unless we looked over the balcony and down, which most times we would sit on the chairs and had a clear view of the sea or view of the island visiting.

The cabin was perfectly adequate, with everything we could have asked for and very clean, our cabin attendant was extremely efficient, helpful and polite. Bedding changed regularly, towels changed every day and clean beach towels exchanged when we'd used them.

I cannot fault the food, my daughter can be fussy but there was plenty to eat, we visited the Silhouette restaurant a few evenings but most times we ate at the buffet Ocean View restaurant.

We didn't have tea making facilities in the cabin but room service was very efficient, bringing hot and cold drinks when requested, which could be done either over the phone or online using the television.

We saw a couple of the shows in the main theatre, which were very good, an illusionist and Cirque du Soleil style show, we were mesmerized, the acrobatics, costumes and scenery were amazing.

The only little problem we had was on disembarkation, leaving the ships and customs were fine, but we'd booked a day rooms at the Sheraton at Miami airport, but there weren't enough coaches to take us, so we had to wait over an hour for a coach, buy the time we got to the hotel we only had 3 hours there, not enough time to do any sightseeing. Our flight wasn't until 21.40, we had to be out of the room by 16.00, the last pick up to the airport was 17.30 so a lot of pointless hanging around.
