This was a very good cruise. Holland America did a great job, transported 2000+ guests through the Caribbean and the crew maintained a great attitude through the entire trip. Everyone was just as pleasant on Day 7 as they were on Day 1. The food was very good, and service was outstanding. Our waiters were very attentive, food arrived quickly each night.
The experience which did not meet out expectations was that the HAL arranged bus/ transfer (from Miami airport to Ft. Lauderdale) broke down en route, and while we waited for another bus to transport us to the ship, discovered the small toilet on the bus was rusty and had no toilet paper. It took over 2 hours to reach the ship (usually 30-40 minutes).
When we boarded, our room was clean and ready for us. Our luggage arrived quickly. Although the ship had 2000+ guests, the only times it seemed crowded were the first day and the last morning.
Lido did a great job feeding and seating so many people. Fruit was available every morning, juice was fresh squeezed, coffee always available. The afternoon "Teas" in the Dining Room were consistently outstanding, the desserts delicious. Our Early Dining experience was superior. Our waiters were excellent.
Excursions were enjoyable and well planned.
Disembarkation was smooth, quick and luggage easily located. The excursion through the FL Everglades was nice, The only suggestion concerned the AirBoat ride-as it was January and there was a cold front, the ride was cold, and coats should have been advised. One gentleman was wearing a short sleeve shirt, not prepared for these temperatures (perhaps blankets could have been available?). Otherwise this was a nice excursion, interesting and a variety of FL wildlife seen.
This was a very nice cruise.
