The Great the good and the Ugly...
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
It was our first cruise on the HAL or the Prinsendam, it is a well travelled ship but well looked after over the years, the GREAT Best ever service ever from the crew, comfortable interior cabin best has was modern bathroom, very clean and good size, only problem was the TV was placed at a very high position difficult to watch for long periods, the Islands visited were in general excellent as many are those that larger ships can not dock at, bording and disembarcation was a song so quick and easy, Kennith on the piano was the best performer in the Nest bar.
The GOOD, the food was good great choose but we found the QM2 and Cel X, ships have the better quality which is unmatched, but service was excellent.
Now the UGLY,
The shows were the worst we have ever seen on a cruise ship and are directed at the older passangers which are 90% 65++ the shows were just so boring and terrable themes, the New years eve was the worst night as there was only ballroom danceing More and that was it so we hit the sack at 11.30 as we just was nothing for us a younger passangers a great shame as this is one of the main reasons to spending Christmas and new year on this ship.
We would not cruise with this ship again manily because of the Entertainement, age of passangers, and cost considering what you can get on other ships today of a similar style, once we are 65++ maybe we will reconsider but only maybe, next year we will take QM2 from NY which is also a Carnival Group ship, but the shows were great, food much better quality,or Cel X.
