Noordam Jan. 6-17

We took Amtrak from the DC area and stayed overnight at the Hilton at Penn Station NJ; my son and his friend flew in from Miami. The hotel was great and the locally recommended Portuguese restaurant was fabulous. Because my son's plane was delayed Sat. am, after checking our bags at the port around noon, we went to eat a few blocks from the port. We are two women 46 and 52 and my son and his friend are both 23. Initially I was worried that there wouldn't be enough of a younger crowd for their enjoyment. As it turned out there were about 20 young folks (17-25 years old) to make it a great cruise for all of us.

Embarkation at one o'clock took about an hour and a half. This was a much longer duration than other ships I have boarded in New York. But once we got on the vacation began! Both cabins occupied were HH Obstructed view cabins.
