Three of us "girls", on a whim, decided to take a "break" without our spouses and just have a fun week....Having done a lot of research, it seemed the Breakaway was just what we needed. Only a little more than an hour by plane to the embarkation port, we were off and running in no time. The embarkation went well considering 4400 passengers were on board. The disembarkation went equally as well.

The new ship was an attraction in itself. What impressed me the most is that we didn't have an idle moment. There was something of interest going on at all times. The cabin, I admit, was small...especially since three of us took a cabin that can accommodate 5...but we adapted to the fact that the ship was built with the hopes that you don't make your cabin the focal point of your cruise.....they want you out and about.....the cabin sufficed as a place to sleep and shower and not much more....it didn't seem to bother us...we made the best of tight quarters....the entertainment was much above our expectations.....we laughed at every opportunity whether we were at a show (Second City, Howling at the Moon or just people watching in the Atrium) or enjoying the conversation with each other at dinner. The food was good not great...but I can tell you none of us ever starved.....we didn't go on the cruise for the gourmet dining. We just loved Sinan, the cruise director and he certainly made his presence known throughout the week. We understood that the band IMPAC was on board for their very first time....what a wonderful time we had every time they played....first time I ever saw karaoke with a real live band....it was awesome! Piano player was great, trivia was fun......The pool was small, but adequate....staff was cordial...passengers were friendly and for the most part pleasant.....Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY! Having fun is all about attitude.....we went to have a good time and that's exactly what we had....to me, it was just what the doctor ordered !!!!!!!
