This was our third trip on the Jade so we had very definite benchmarks to compare all aspects of the cruise.
Its sad to report the departure of Gary Glading, the Cruise Director on our previous 2 Jade trips. His many talents were greatly missed and his replacement, Jill Tasker, is simply not in the same league.
Similarly, we found that with the exception of 1 or 2 cruise director's staff, the rest of them were poorly trained and generally amateurish.
Most found the English language somewhat challenging - to the extent that the trivia quizzes we so enjoy, were rather poorly conducted.
The schedule was seemingly geared to ensure that all quizzes were in conflict with meal times and with the exception of 2 excellent acts, there was little to tempt us in the evenings.
Our cabin steward was just about satisfactory - but only just ! We have had much better on all previous cruises.
The dining room staff were first class, almost without exception, and when my wife asked for a specific vegetarian dish, the staff responded extremely well.
In general, we felt that the food had deteriorated slightly since our last trip in 2012 but not so as to deter us from another cruise if other factors were corrected.
