This was my husbands and my first cruise, so we have little to compare too. However we have done resort travel, and our expectations from staying at the Four Seasons Resort in the Bahamas the last few years ,were quite high.
We embarked from Miami. We live in California, and we are "Travel bargain hunters". Lets just say our flight had us exhausted, and ragged by the time we finally arrived in Ft Lauderdale. We arrived at the baggage claim and there was 3 different cruise employees waiting for us, we sat there for over an hour waiting for more arrivals. Next we said goodbye to our luggage, and were packed into the shuttle. It only took about 25 minutes after that to get to the ship.Everything after that ran smoothly and we were in our room in 15 minutes, but our luggage wasn't back for another 2 hours, and I wanted a shower and fresh clothes.Next time I will bring a smaller bag with personal items and a change of clothes.I would also recommend taking a taxi instead of using the shuttle service.
We found our room to be small , but adequate. However If we chose to take our two young children, the space would have made the trip unbearable. The bed was very comfortable, as it was a queen, and the pillows and blankets were very plush and soft.Plenty of closet space, and a wonderful light vanity, made my make-up and hair routine a breeze. The vanity is a must because the bathroom was so cramped. The showers are small , and I wondered how uncomfortable it would be for someone twice my size.
