Ship Facts: Viking Idun Review (by Cruise Critic!)
Perfect trip!

My husband & I booked this trip with another couple 11 months prior to departure date. None of us had been on a river cruise, only ocean liners. We had heard so many good things about Viking that we were a little worried that our expectations would be too high and that we would be disappointed. Lucky enough, that didn't happen.

Not only did Viking meet our expectations but they exceeded them! From the minute we embarked we were treated so special. They think of every detail. All you have to do is relax and they take care of everything. It rained the first few days of our trip but Viking had enough large red umbrellas for all the passengers. The tour guides were locals from each area that we visited and had a wealth of knowledge.

The food and service were outstanding! From our program director (Marek) to our Chef (Klaus), our concierge (Daniel) and the dining room manager (David), you couldn't find anything to complain about.

On our final night, while docked in Budapest, another Viking ship docked next to us (the Viking Tor). We were on the sun deck and the boats dock about 6 inches apart. So all the passengers on our sun deck walked over to the railing next to all the passengers on Tor who had done the same thing. In talking to those passengers, we heard the same thing we had been saying about the superb food and service. That meant that it wasn't just a lucky draw getting "the good staff", ALL Viking ships have "the good staff".

This was supposed to be a "once in a life time" trip, but we are already thinking about our next trip.
