Frank review, traveled with 17 others, family celebration

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: Boston

Hi all,

Will give you my frank review of the ship, its staff, etc.

It will be scaled 1-10,and appropriate comments to back them review up.

I will be happy to reply to you if you have questions...

There ability to handle our group of 17 was really good.

Overall ship (DAWN) 7 Old tired ship...many good and bad points....

Food 5 Dining rooms- same ole, same ole. Little change. Check out the upcharge ones...

Cagney's- 10 Capitol Grille quality and service WORTH IT!

Lacucina- 8 Tasty food, good service

LeBistro- 5 Some happy, not me, Bouilbasse horrible !!

Deck- 8

Seat availability- 5-, 1 hr seat saving not enforced. We went out at 7am and saved our seats with towels and magazines. We preferred the stadium seating area. Shade was tough finding

Food-10- Bimini Grill was fabulous, great burgers and fries up on deck

Drinks-9- tip the servers and you will be taken care of More easily. They were plentiful on deck. We had the drink plan ($50 per person) and worked it to get 2 drinks delivered at a time.

Deck clean up-1- plates not picked up consistently, bottles, cups also

Other food- ice cream bar great, though they were cheap with the scoops

BBQ on deck-10- good food, paella was one day and it was really good

Chocolate Buffet- lots of it, however most not very tasty. Hardly worth eating or blowing calories on...PLUS, you're up all nite....

Cabins- 8- good, tight, but livable. We were 5636, and 7 rooms that followed

Steward was attentive, towels, etc timely. Two were fine in the room, 3 was over the top and way to small.

-Elevators- 1- pathetic !! Slowest damn things ever.

Bars-8- lots, service good.

Stardust Theatre-8- shows good, particularly the Second City shows. Seating at a premium, get there early, like very early.

Pub-8- Karaoke location, great fun

GYM-2-the only good thing I can say is the treadmills were good. Equipment old, like very old, need of replacement like yesterday. Fills up early, by 7:30 am nothing available. Never did find any locker rooms, who knows if they were even available.

Embarkation- 8- effortless.

Disembarkation-2- had you walk in freaking circles on 7th to get off. Lines wrapped around the whole floor, and totally unnecessary. We chose the walk off option and it was a good hour before we got off. NCL get your act together on this !!

Parking in Boston-10- great, easy location. 2 minute walk to ship. Cheap at $117 for the week.

Muster Drill-1- JOKE...good luck finding your location. Total mess, no one knew where to go, where to report...You must be checked off the list as you enter the room that you were assigned....Good luck folks....
