We embarked on a fantastic journey through the Southern Caribbean on June 8, 2013. This was our fifth cruise. We have cruised with RC and Carnival. We were very excited about the itinerary and the extra day of fun on the Breeze. We are a family of 5, including three boys ages 17, 16, 13. We flew from Chicago the day before and stayed at the airport hotel. It was clean and convenient. The next morning, a cab took us to the pier around 11:00am. Once there, a porter took our luggage and we entered into the terminal. We were on board in no time at all. Very organized process. The ship is absolutely beautiful. I personally like the calm, subdued colors that are on the Breeze, it really does have an island feel. We made our way to the lido deck and chose to eat at the Blue Iguana Cantina and Guy's Burger joint. The Cantina had delicious tacos and burritos. They were so fresh and the chicken was amazing. I'm very picky about food and this place is excellent. The salsas are all homemade and so yummy as well. The men in my family couldn't get enough of Guy's Burger Joint. They went every day. My husband said it is the best burger he has ever had. The fries are to die for! There is a line when they first open at noon but wait until 12:30 and you are the only one there. The Pizza Pirate is very good also. I recommend the Quatro pizza. They make the pizza as it is ordered so you will wait 5 minutes but I don't think that's a big deal. Bonsai Sushi is wonderful. There is a small surcharge but it is so worth it. Great time to try sushi if you never have before. We ate at the Farenheit 555 and it is worth every additional dollar. The service, bread, shrimp cocktail, salad, lobster, steak, desert...loved it.

Fat Jimmy's C-Side Grill is great! It is only open on sea days and it gets packed. The line is very long but moves quickly. Jalepeno cornbread, grilled chicken breast, sausage, pulled pork, creamed corn, and more. It's located on deck 5. We read so many negative reviews about the dining room. The service on the Breeze was the best we have ever received on any ship...Carnival or RC. Our waiters remembered what we liked and called each one of us by name. Our water glasses were always kept full. The food was hot and delicious. The lobster was prepared just right and our waiter asked us how many we wanted. We ended up with 3 lobster tails each and could have had more if we wanted it. One night I tried something different and wasn't thrilled with it....no big deal. I chose something else and our waiter, Joel, brought it right away. I cannot think of any negatives regarding the dining room service. The only negative about the dining options is the buffet. We could all tell that the options were scaled down. This didn't end up being a big deal at all because there are so many wonderful food options. We didn't try Cucina del Capitano. The Red Frog Pub offers appetizers for a surcharge and they were excellent also. We didn't try the options at Ocean Plaza Cafe although they looked amazing. Tandoor was great as well. It's located on the lido deck at the Tides Pool. A nice option is the brunch in the dining room. Not the boring menus we were used to in the past. Lots of breakfast options that weren't available anywhere else. Drinks: The coffee was actually really good and it was nice to grab a cup and enjoy it on the deck each morning. We didn't purchase soda cards. The drinks included in the cruise were lemonade, orange juice, ice tea, water, coffee. The bars are everywhere and there is no shortage of a tasty concoction. They didn't skimp on the alcohol and it was all top shelf. The bar staff was wonderful! Pools: The Waterworks area was very cool. Always filled with kids (and adults) having a blast! The main pool was very crowded but we tended to hang out at the Tides Pool. It's on deck 10 but quieter and less crazy. There is a bar there too and the staff knew just what our kids wanted each day :)

There is non shortage of deck chairs. They are everywhere! We loved the addition of comfy seating areas and camped out for hours just relaxing and drinking. We did notice that attendants were taking towels off the chairs that weren't attended for 40 minutes or more. No matter when we went to the pools we found a few chairs no problem. There are many hot tubs as well. There is even one on deck 5 tucked away. The adults only Serenity area was beautiful. Swaying hammocks, huge covered beds and hot tub. You do have to walk past the Waterworks area but once in Serenity I didn't hear one sound coming from the waterpark. We read many reviews that people heard children screaming but we didn't. There is a bar in this area too so it is easy to relax the whole day away in this area. The big screen in the main pool area was a great addition. There were movies shown each night and the basketball finals were played as well. We loved that you could hang out on the deck as late as you wanted to. On past cruises, all the chairs were put away and the deck was scrubbed and blocked off. Sports Square: The ropes course was closed the entire cruise due to wind. The mini golf course was cool. Pool tables were always available. Stateroom: We had a balcony room and an interior room across the hall. We were on deck 10 which was perfect. Just simply walking out of our room and we were part of the party was great. We thought the rooms were the best we have ever had. They were nicely laid out and very spacious. The shower gel and shampoo pumps in the shower were really nice. Lots of closet space. Our room attendant, Randy, was great. Always available if we needed him. Shops: There are the usual shops on the boat. Cigs, alcohol, souvenirs, etc. Cherry on Top has bulk candy and other chocolately sugary goodies. Pictures: The photography areas were nicely spaced around the ship. There was hardly ever a line. Ports: La Romana, Dominican Republic We took a taxi to Dreams Resort and for $60 per person stayed for the day. You need to call before your cruise to reserve your day passes. A delicious buffet and grill and all the drinks included. Need to pay with case.Aruba: De Palms excursion. Would do this again. Snorkeling was fun and the water park area was a blast too. Curacao: We were actually disappointed with this port. Thought we would have a blast shopping but the stores all close at 6:00pm and you have to walk a TON! We were only off the boat for a couple hours. Next time we are at this port, we will do a beach excursion.Grand Turk: Right off the pier is a beautiful beach and huge pool. There is a huge Margaritaville. A few shops here too. Loved this stop.Shows: I have to agree with most people about the productions. Not very good. We went to a couple and then skipped the rest. The crew on the ship was always upbeat and greeted us. They work hard to make sure you have a wonderful time. Debarkation was a breeze. We grabbed our luggage as a porter waited for us to find it. He helped us get a cab and were were on our way to the airport. Our flight was noon however we could have left as early as 10:00am.We all agreed that this ship was the best one yet! Everyone we talked to was loving it.
