Background Information -- We live in Atlanta, 54 and 46 years old. This was my seventh cruise (9th for her), my second Princess cruise (previous was the Grand), I have also cruised with Carnival (2 times), NCL (2 times) and RCCL. Travel To Port of Embarkation

We drove down to Orlando and spent Friday night with relatives, then drove to Ft Lauderdale on Saturday morning. We had no problem finding the port and we arrived at the pier a little after 12 PM. The parking deck was right next to the ship and there were plenty of parking spaces. We gave our bags to the porters (the sign says no tipping but the porter didnt seem to mind accepting our tip) and got in line for the metal detectors. We cleared them in no time, then went inside to check in. We were in the check in line for about 15 minutes and were on the ship by 12:45.
