I went on this same cruise ship ten years ago. It was my first. We all fell in love with cruising after cruising on this ship for a measly 3 days. I have now been on 7 cruises, six with Carnival, and only five different ships. Seeing that I went on this cruise ten years ago, I wasn't expecting very much. After all, I had just come off of a very nice ship, The Carnival Glory. I ended up being surprised however. I went on this cruise with my younger sister who is only 3, and my mother and father.

My mother booked the cruise only a week before it left, and so therefore we boarded the ship without any tickets or even knowing what our room number was. When we got to embarkation, they quickly wrote down the room numbers on our tags and my mother, my sister, and I went inside to get onto the ship. The biggest surprise, was that it was valet parking so we had to leave my father and meet him back later. We boarded the ship quickly and easily. We found our cabin to be only semi-clean. It hadn't been dusted in awhile and one of the bathroom lights were out. The steward seemed to be friendly and all of the other crew members we saw were friendly. The Muster Station Drill went quite smoothly that day, as well.

When it came to dining, my mother was a little infuriated in the beginning, but she cooled down. She had confirmed early seating, but we ended up with an 8:00 seating. THis just wouldn't do. Our family can not stretch out our normal 6 o'clock eating time to 8 o'clock. The Maitre D' was very friendly, and he was able to find us a seating for the rest of the week.
