Our Mothers Day cruise was amazing. We kicked off our vacation with a stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We left about 9:00 am and headed for Port Canaveral, then stopped for last minute items (water bottles, soda, wine, beer, etc.)
EMBARKATION & ON BOARD: Embarkation is always a breeze. This was our 3rd Disney cruise, but our first time on the Magic. We boarded by 12:00 and as usual, we were one of the first 50 ppl on the ship. We headed straight for Parrot Cay and dove right into that buffet. This is the best lunch buffet of the cruise. The pick and peel shrimp are big and the cold mango soup is something I still dream about. Imagine a smoothie in a bowl ! YUM! Next we made our Palo reservations and registered the kids in the clubs. By this time, our luggage was in our room. After the drill, straight to the deck party!
FOOD: Dinners were all good. If you are lucky enough to get a great server, you will have an excellent experience. We had a lousy server on a Wonder cruise and it just wasnt the same. Our server, DOBO, brought extra helpings of things we really liked and was quick to go the extra mile. Animators Palate is my least favorite food, but the light show makes up for it. The burgers by the pool are amazing!! We had the late seating for dinner, which I thought would be a great idea since we wouldnt be rushed coming back from Port. This was a mistake because we were always starving when we re-boarded. It was too late for lunch, so back to Plutos for more burgers. About an hour or so later, we were off to dinner, and not starving. We would get up from dinner around 10 pm so the 2 nights that they had midnight buffets, I couldnt dare think of eating a thing! Next time -- EARLY SEATING. Palo was amazing. It was much better than the Palo experience on the Wonder. My filet could be cut with a fork and delicious. The panacotta was my favorite dessert of the cruise.
