Queen Elizabeth to the Canaries
Destination: Canary Islands
Firstly, how can anyone possibly give this ship one star? Ludicrous! If people have an axe to grind about a specific shortcoming fair enough, but this should not affect the total overall rating given to the ship....
We had a wonderful, relaxing ten day cruise to the Canary Islands and I have to say Cunard looked after us superbly. Queen Elizabeth is a stunning ship, inside and out....love it!
Our cabin (6082) was kept spotless by Abbi whose initial welcoming smile set the tone for the entire trip. Our waiters in the Britannia restaurant (Nathanial and Fiodar) together with Maria our sommelier, were all really helpful, friendly and professional. The staff throughout the ship were always pleasant and upbeat, much appreciated when you are on holiday. Food was delicious in the Britannia restaurant, we looked forward to dinner every night and were never disappointed, we only had the odd light snack in the Lido but what we did have was fine.
Entertainment was excellent More throughout the trip, dancers, singers, comedians, lecturers etc, we enjoyed them all. The theatre on the Queen Elizabeth is beautiful, superb acoustics, elegant surroundings, wonderful!
We didn't take any of Cunard's shore excursions as we have been to all of the Islands on the cruise itinerary many times over the years. When needed, Cunard provided a free shuttle bus into the nearest town centre or on some occasions you could simply walk in from the ship. We usually find that three hours mulling around the local area including a coffee break is enough for us!
Beautiful ship, elegant surroundings, spotlessly clean, excellent food, great staff, well done Cunard, we will be back! Less
