Ship Facts: Carnival Breeze Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Breeze Deck Plans
Carnival Breeze....so-so
Embark and Debark were smooth and trouble free. Ship is a nice looking ship. All brand new. For the most part easy to get around.

Food was pretty good. Dining room service was good our waiter was excellent. That was not the case for our friends they had to go to the buffet after day 2 their 2nd seating waiter was so slow and food was coming out not even warm.

The lines at the Lido Buffet were long. Unless you have breakfest at 7am may be ok after that forget it. Punchliners breakfast was 2 hours. Too long lines and too slow service. It took awhile to get a drink at the nightclub and piano bar...Only two bartenders there so you have to wait!!

We had the 6M cabin with 1 1/2 baths which was very nice and roomy with nice closet space and the two bathrooms came in handy.

There were only 4 shows that involved the dancers dancing to different styles of music...Latin, Divas, Motown and Brits. Same old same old....sing and dance. There needed to be other types of instead of just the singers and dancers...oh wait but that costs the cruiseline money. A couple of nights we were board so we did the thrill theater which was cool. Out of boredom we took alot of Carnival Pictures the photographers do a great job. Taking pictures killed time. Your fellow cruisers are your entertainment.

The activities involved alot of trivia....If you love trivia this is the ship for you. Dodgeball was scheduled one day at 11am we went up to the sports deck at 10:55am and no cruise staff showed up...cruisers were there ready to play....finally we left only later to find out by a cruiser that after we left the staff member came up. If Dodgeball is scheduled at 11am the staff must be there waiting for the cruisers not the cruisers waiting for the staff....I've never come across this on Royal....every activity and show starts right on time on the dot. Carnival staff does not seem to care. Also other activities we attended did not start on time either not 1/2 hour late though. The deck parties were fun. A fight almost broke out and was quickly stopped by staff and security.

Music around the ship was good and bad.....Eddie & the ? (forgot their name) were good usually found mid deck 5. DJ's play alot of rap on the ship....If you love rap this is the ship for you. The nightclub starts out with dance music then nothing but Rap is played the rest of the night.

Punchliners comedy is a big mess.....two days of shows Monday and Thursday. Shows are 7:30 and 8:30 both family shows then 9:45 10:45 11:45 adult shows. We saw the 8:30 show and wanted to see the 9:45 show however the crew member told us we need to exit the theater and go on line there were others already waiting outside. So we followed the rules along with a few other cruisers everyone else stayed in the theater for the next show. Now the people in line outside want to come in but there is only a few seats available so some cruisers walked over to the casino to get chairs and carried them into Punchliners. One cruiser was so mad that he waited on line so long and could not get in he started shouting and cursing at the people that never left the first show....what a mess at that time we left it got ugly and I did not know if fights would break out. Meanwhile while all this is happening there is no crew member around. Carnival why not put on more shows each day the comedians were on the ship all week I saw them they did not get off the ship. Or do what Royal does a reservations system or hold comedy in the showroom so everyone can get in.

There were other incidents one involved a bartender charging another cruisers drinks to my seapass account. I disputed the bill at the desk and they did credit my account however that night that bartender confronted me that I did have those drinks. I don't drink Barcardi Martini's or Chocolate Martini's!!! Thank god it was the last day of the cruise and I did not have to deal with this bartender.

Carnival is a low budget cruise line and it shows. Some cruisers are very poorly behaved and rude.

The Breeze crew are way over worked and try but can't keep up with the passengers. Many don't want to be there and it shows. Not their fault it's Carnival that downsized its staff.

Being on Royal and Celebrity then on Breeze...it was a big downgrade.

Spend more and cruise on a more upscale line.
