Selected this Cruise because we booked late and it was available. Uniworld booked us into the Art Deco Imperial Hotel in Prague, which we loved. If you want to have dinner in their Cafe, reserve a table prior to arrival. After two days in Prague, we took 4 hour bus trip to Nuremburg where we boarded the River Ambassador. We were greeted by the Cruise Director, Ann, and the friendly and professional staff. Everyone could not have been nicer. Our Category 1 cabin (230) was fine, but even smaller than we expected. Pack accordingly because luggage must be stowed under the bed or in the small closet.
Without going into too much detail, we found the itinerary to be rather dull. While we loved PRAGUE, we found the Riverboat stops to be repetitive. We could not distinguish the towns. Wurtzburg Miltenburg, or Bamburg, etc. Each had their signature castle or cathedral, Cobblestone streets with similar shopping areas. Many shops do not accept plastic, so have euros in your wallet. The Optional Tour to Weikersheim Palace (45 euros each) was a waste of time and $$.
We made really nice friends on the cruise, and many felt the same. There is a fitness room on board, but it was very claustrophobic and not much air circulation. Food was good. and they went out of their way to satisfy any dietary needs. Although there is not much to do after dinner, we socialized in the lounge each night, and retired to our cabin by 11PM. We had a great time, but could not recommend the itinerary.
Cabin 230. Great bed and linens. Small cabin, small bathroom, next to crew space (not a problem for us).
