This was our first cruise on HAL. We must commend the cruise line for very timely embarkation and debarkation. It was the best we've ever experienced. The cabin was always tidy. Although the decor is looking tired. Our main criticism is with the buffet, main dining room and specialty dining. Most of the time the food was only warm. At times the food was cold. Other times the food was inedible and was sent back. The coffee in main dining, regardless of the time of day was always lukewarm. We had to specify cream for the coffee or they used milk. Ugh! One evening we wanted to send the entree back and had to wait possibly 15 minutes for help from the waiter. We were then rushed through our second choice entree as they wanted to clean the table.

We would not choose this ship again and probably would not choose HAL again after our experience. We feel we did not get value for money spent.

Regarding port of call: Charlottetown is not listed. It was the best excursion we took. It was booked through AAA. We were on a small bus with perhaps 20 to 24 people. The driver/guide was a native of PEI and very knowledgeable. Our tour was called Island Drive and Anne of Green Gables. The guide took us through the city of Charlottetown showing us homes from the average to extremely pricey. He knew who owned the pricey homes and how long they lived on the island. His knowledge of Green Gables was phenomenal as was his general knowledge of the island.
