We were a group of 19 traveling with 9 adults and 10 kids, ages 14-18. As first time cruisers we were worried about some of the negative reviews but overall we had a great time.
Both getting on and off the ship at all ports was easy. Some people pushed to be first off at ports, we just waited a few minutes for them to exit and had no problems.
Staterooms were better than expected. Great size, clean and with a main bath and extra bath with tub and sink it was awesome for family of 4. We had a clogged toilet when we arrived and within 15 minutes someone was there to fix and sanitize, could have been ugly situation but was very pleased with service right from the start. Nasty smell mentioned in other reviews was obvious in port but we never noticed it on the ship.
Food was mostly good. Buffet is o.k. but we preferred to be served breakfast with ocean view in dining room, excellent quality and service. Pasta bar and deli were great options for lunch, again, skipping the buffet mostly. Dinner was outstanding every night and service could not have been better. Our waiters became like friends and called us each by name, making sure our favorite drinks and tea/coffee were ready without even having to ask. Soups were excellent, desserts to die for!
Entertainment was very good, although Bingo got old after a few days. Comedians were hysterical! Pools are way to small for number of people on board but our kids loved the basketball court and gym was well equipped.
Our only complaint is the strict rules on ages in various clubs. Before we booked we were told our kids could get into the 18+ club with parents. However they did not allow 17 yr. olds to come in with us which left our group of teenagers very disappointed. With some being 17 and others 18 there wasn't any club they could go to together b/c the 18 yr olds couldn't go into the under 18 club. Since you have to use your sea card to buy drinks I'm not sure why there isn't an under 21 club for anyone 16 and over. We tried several times to talk with staff but it didn't help. Be sure to check the ages of your group and the ages of the clubs so you don't have the same problem!
